Indianapolis Met Opens Student-Run Coffee Shop
Indianapolis Metropolitan, Goodwill’s high school for students in grades 9-12, today announced the opening of their student-run coffee shop, Puma Sips.
Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana recently hosted more than 700 volunteers from Eli Lilly and Company, a global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Indianapolis, for Lilly’s Global Day of Service. This initiative is one of the largest single-day volunteer programs of any global enterprise.
Eskenazi Health is a champion of Goodwill’s NFP, evidenced by the fact that they made 851 referrals in 2017! Our partnership complements their own Healthy Families initiative, a free, community-based program that supports Marion County families with newborns.
Mental Health Matters
About one in seven women will experience some type of mood or anxiety disorder during pregnancy or through the first year postpartum. While depression and anxiety are common, pregnant and postpartum women can experience a myriad of mental health conditions, including panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder and, in rare cases, psychosis.

Goodwill-Community Health East Partnership Educates, Employs
For several years, Goodwill has hosted tours for community and business leaders interested in
learning more about our programs and services. In 2015, Community Health Network brought a group to participate, which yielded a mutually beneficial relationship characterized by employment, education and training for individuals interested in a pharmacy technician career.

Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana developed work-based learning opportunities for employers that are seeking new talent pools for their company, and to serve Hoosier workers in need of critical, hands-on training opportunities. For minimal cost, employer partners receive the benefit of added labor, and the ability to preview before hiring as they work toward building a talented pool of skilled employees.
