When we think of a veteran in need of assistance, many times we assume that help is needed soon after a discharge, but that’s not always the case. Many times veterans can lead successful, well-adjusted lives only to need help years after their service.

The world is made up of individuals and each individual has strengths and weaknesses. Goodwill’s Beyond Barriers program is based on this. Beyond Barriers is an employment program for neurodiverse young adults. While the concept is straight forward, the program is about much more than employment, it’s about growth and success.

As Americans, we are provided with many privileges, but nothing more important than our freedom. Our story is rich with a history of heroes; men and women who fought and, in many cases, died for our gift of freedom. We call these heroes veterans.
