What started as bringing a single retail store to life more than a decade ago has evolved into a powerful, purpose-driven partnership. Sullivan Commercial, this year’s Goodwill: UNBOXED Title Sponsor, has been deeply connected to Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana for over 15 years – growing alongside the organization and supporting its mission in meaningful, multifaceted ways.
The relationship began when Sullivan Commercial owner Scott Rogers helped convert a former Sullivan Hardware store in Brownsburg into a Goodwill retail site. It was through that process that Rogers recognized a gap in fixture procurement and delivery – an observation that sparked an entirely new service model. Sullivan began sourcing, assembling and installing interior units across Goodwill stores, ultimately becoming a trusted partner in both design and operations.
“Sullivan does work all across the country, but through our relationship with GCSI, we’re helping remodel locations across Indiana, Puerto Rico, and even Illinois,” said Gita Baker, vp of finance and development at Sullivan Commercial. “As GCSI has grown, we’ve grown with them.”
But Sullivan’s support goes far beyond store interiors. The company’s ongoing contributions and hands-on engagement reflect a true belief in Goodwill’s mission of changing lives everyday through education, employment and health. That dedication was recently recognized at Goodwill’s Annual Awards, where Sullivan received the 2025 Connections Award.
“We’ve been a partner all these years because we see the depth of Goodwill’s impact. From job training to education, their work in the community is powerful,” Baker said. “The more we learn about what Goodwill does, the more we want to support.”
That spirit of giving back is what drives Sullivan to continue its support each year – including becoming the Title Sponsor of Goodwill: UNBOXED.
“We are excited to continue growing with Goodwill, and supporting them as the Title Sponsor of Goodwill: UNBOXED was organic. It’s not about recognition for us – it’s about being part of something bigger,” Baker shared.
That “something bigger” is exactly what Goodwill: UNBOXED represents. The event, which brings together business leaders, donors and supporters, is a celebration of the lives impacted by Goodwill’s programs and has raised over $1 million for the mission. For Sullivan, it’s a perfect extension of their values.
“Goodwill: UNBOXED resonates with us because it highlights what Goodwill is really about. It’s not just a fundraiser. It’s a night to celebrate impact.”
As Sullivan continues to expand nationally with Goodwill as a key partner, the company remains grounded in its original motivation: to help people and communities thrive.
“It’s a full-circle partnership. We grow, Goodwill grows, and together we’re creating opportunities for others to succeed. That’s the kind of work that matters.”
