The Excel Center national office team is responsible for supporting Goodwill organizations to open and operate Excel Center campuses in their unique markets. Typically, navigating an Excel Center opening requires the following phases: feasibility and discovery; community development; school prospectus and planning; implementation; and membership.
The final quarter of 2023 was an exciting and busy time for The Excel Center National Office!
Two new Goodwill organizations have been approved to open Excel Center campuses in their respective territories in the fall of 2024 — Aurora, Colorado, and Rockford, Illinois. Goodwill Wabash Valley and Evansville Goodwill, both in Indiana, have applied to open new schools as well.
The National Office team traveled to Austin, Texas, to visit The Excel Center campuses operated by Goodwill of Central Texas. Joined by other Excel Center leaders from Indiana and Tennessee, the group was able to tour a community campus located in the heart of the city and a justice campus located within the Lockhart Correctional Facility. The Excel Center staff members in Texas are incredibly dedicated to their students and are helping them achieve life-changing goals.
On the other side of the country, Excel Center leaders from nearly every state with an open campus came together at The 2023 Excel Center Learning Lab hosted in Washington, D.C. The Washington, D.C. team provided an exceptional opportunity for teachers and coaches to collaborate, learn from one another and problem-solve. At the end of the Learning Lab, the group spent time at the National Museum of African-American History & Culture.
The Excel Center National Office team is gearing up for a busy 2024 as they continue to support the 41 operational Excel Center locations across the country and open four more schools.
