As part of our commitment to our customers, we’re always striving to meet the highest standards, which is why we’re proud to announce the newest addition to our toolkit: the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Building (GB) certification from ISSA, the worldwide cleaning association.

Through education, Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana is focused on supporting students on a pathway towards better career prospects that lead to economic self-sufficiency and have a multigenerational impact on families.

Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana’s Nurse-Family PartnershipⓇ client Mikala Turner always felt inspired by this quote from Confucius—“It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop.” So inspired in fact, that it serves as her guiding principle throughout her life as she consistently sets and achieves her goals, overcomes tragedy and challenges and eventually discovers a path that allows her to provide support to others facing many of the same challenges she did. 

For many, the holiday season is a time for happiness and joy.  The idea of giving gifts as well as celebrating with family and friends is commonplace.  For some families, the holidays can be a harsh reminder of life’s more challenging moments.  

Like thousands of students across the state, Desiree Segraves is graduating from high school in June 2021. However, Desiree is not your typical soon-to-be-graduate. For one thing, she is just 16 years old; she is also mother to her one-year-old son, Kameron.

Theresa Samuels, 33, is a wife, mom, soon-to-be accountant and fervent believer in the power of education. Growing up, however, Theresa’s household did not place much emphasis on the value of schooling.

Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana is celebrating the opening of its newest store in Floyds Knobs on Tuesday, January 12, at 9 a.m. Located on 810 Highlander Point Drive, the store has nearly twice as much selling space as our previous location in Floyds Knobs and features 8,367 square feet of clothing, housewares, toys, books and more. Store hours are Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Seeking new opportunities, Sophia Lan moved to the United States from China. After her arrival in January 2014, she was informed that her high school diploma and bachelor’s degree were not recognized. While working full time and caring for her 6-month-old daughter, Sophia knew she had to go back to school to make a better life for her family.  In 2018, Sophia learned that The Excel Center®, Goodwill’s high school for adults, had a campus near her in Lafayette, Indiana, and enrolled right away.
