What happens when you bring together nearly 500 passionate community members, a fusion orchestra and an incredible mission? You get Goodwill: UNBOXED, the signature annual fundraising event for the Goodwill Foundation

On September 17, 2026, supporters gathered at The AMP at 16 Tech in Indianapolis for an unforgettable evening. Together, the crowd raised over $600,000 to empower vulnerable individuals navigating barriers on their journey toward stability and independence.

As guests entered the building, they stepped directly into the heart of Goodwill's work to see how the organization breaks cycles and builds lasting legacies. Attendees listened to the inspiring story of Thomas from Horizon House, who shared his journey through struggles with addiction, incarceration, homelessness and how he turned his life around to become a Peer Support Specialist while sharing his incredible musical talent. Guests also learned about Jada, who enrolled in The Excel Center, became pregnant, and connected with the Nurse-Family Partnership. Today, Jada has graduated, is employed full-time, and is the proud mother of two healthy and thriving children.

The energy at The AMP reached a whole new level thanks to our musical guests, The Trap Orchestra. They brought a mind-blowing, classical reimagining of favorite trap, hip-hop, and R&B hits using violins, cellos, violas, bass, and drums. It was an incredible soundtrack for a night of celebration.

There was also a time for guests to “shop for good” by participating in a silent auction. The auction offered a fresh spin on curated Goodwill finds! Guests bid on handpicked treasures with an innovative twist: if a winning bundle contained an item they did not want, they had the option to donate it right back on the spot. Shopping for a great cause has never been so tailored and fun.
