In addition to being named Educator of the Year at The Excel Center® on Shadeland Avenue, Badr Allouche was also named the overall Goodwill Education Initiatives Educator of the Year after an additional selection process. In his application, Badr wrote:
“This award isn't just mine. It reflects the collective passion and hard work that define The Excel Center. This recognition belongs to our tireless teachers, coaches, MOAs [managers of office administration], para[professional]s, and all educators who see the potential in every student, offering not just education but also a second chance at life. You create a safe space where learning and growth flourish.
It belongs to the dedicated Goodwill staff, whose crucial support systems empower our students to succeed. Your commitment to breaking down barriers and creating opportunities is truly remarkable. You understand that education is key, and you work tirelessly to make it accessible.
And most importantly, this award belongs to our incredible students. Their resilience, determination, and courage to pursue their education is truly inspiring. Their stories of perseverance fuel our passion and remind us of the profound impact education can have.
Witnessing their triumphs, big and small, is the greatest reward. Seeing that spark of understanding ignite, watching their confidence grow – these are the moments that make this profession so meaningful.”
