Last month, Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana was buzzing with energy as hundreds of volunteers from Eli Lilly and Company joined us for the annual Lilly Global Day of Service. Across 25 Goodwill locations – including our retail stores, outlets and Indianapolis Metropolitan High School – Lilly volunteers spent the day giving back, learning about Goodwill’s mission and engaging directly with the people we serve.
At our retail sites, volunteers helped sort, organize and merchandise donated goods, lending a hand with the daily work that keeps our stores running and our mission thriving. Every item they touched supports Goodwill’s larger purpose of helping Hoosiers access education, employment, health and housing opportunities.
The day was about more than volunteering – it was about connection. Lilly team members learned how Goodwill’s operations create ripple effects throughout the community. From saving millions of items from landfills to providing pathways to stable careers, every part of Goodwill’s work and mission is designed to help people reach their full potential.
By the end of the day, volunteers left with a deeper understanding of how donations and purchases fuel real change and how collective effort can make a difference right here in central Indiana.
Partnerships like the Lilly Global Day of Service highlight the incredible impact that happens when companies and nonprofits come together for good. Whether it’s sorting donations or simply learning more about how Goodwill makes a difference, every moment contributes to a stronger, more connected community.
We’re grateful to Eli Lilly and their dedicated volunteers for choosing to spend the day with us, helping advance Goodwill’s mission of changing lives every day through health, housing, education and employment.
